Forest Conservation Program
SCS established its Forest Conservation Program in 1991 and has since emerged as a leading certifier of forest management operations, wood product manufacturers and distributors, printers and other specialty businesses. SCS has certified more than 30 million acres of natural forests and plantations in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Asia, and New Zealand. SCS has certified over 3,000 companies for chain-of-custody in over 30 countries, through a well-developed network of regional representatives and contractors.
FSC Chain of Custody Certification Program
SCS’ Chain-of-Custody Certification program has audited and certified over 3,000 manufacturers, distributors, and retailers around the globe who make or carry FSC-certified wood products. Holding an FSC Chain of Custody (CoC) certificate entitles companies to market and sell products as “FSC Certified.”

FSC Forest Management Certification Program
SCS awards Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-endorsed certifications to forest management operations that are well-managed in accordance with environmentally and socially responsible guidelines, as articulated by the FSC Standards of Forest Stewardship.
