The Environmental Building Declaration (EBD) is an interactive platform to measure the performance and efficiency of a building throughout its useful lifetime. Based on life cycle assessment (LCA), the EBD includes all environmental and human health impacts from design and construction through operations and maintenance, occupancy, and end-of life.

For the first time, property owners, building professionals, facility managers, and occupants can collaborate to determine the best ways to minimize environmental impacts, and the relative benefits and disadvantages of each material, product or service choice.

Addressing multiple LEED scopes, the EBD platform gives LEED professionals a new evaluation tool for testing and applying new strategies and options to reduce environmental and human health impacts before committing resources.
