Scientific Certification Systems offers a wide range of green product certifications including single-attribute claims, multiple-attribute claims, and comprehensive cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment based claims. For more than 25 years, SCS has developed internationally recognized standards and certification programs in pursuit of the highest level of environmental performance and social accountability. Many certifications are based on innovative life cycle assessment methodology.
All certification standards are available for public review to provide transparency. Where standards require lab testing, SCS works with independent laboratories to further ensure impartial certification decisions.
Indoor Air Quality
SCS offers three indoor air quality certifications as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the environmental performance of building products: Indoor Advantage™, Indoor Advantage Gold, Indoor Advantage Gold + Formaldehyde Free, FloorScore®, and calCOMPliant™ (CARB ATCM).

Environmentally Preferable Products
Scientific Certification Systems provides scientific, third-party certification that takes into account the full ‘cradle-to-grave’ environmental consequences of a product’s manufacture, use and disposal. SCS’ product certifications are consistent with the Type III Life-Cycle Impact Profile Declarations for Products and Services Standard and conformant with ISO-14044 international LCA requirements.

Material Content Certification
SCS provides Material Content Certifications and assessment services to manufacturers of carpet, textiles, ceramic tile, building products, wood products, insulation, flooring, cleaning agents, and jewelry. SCS offers Recycled Content Certification, Biodegradable Certification, and certifications for reclamation and recycling facilities.

LEED Credits
