Import Services
Importers benefit from SCS’s extensive experience working with the FDA, EPA and other US agencies. SCS chemists and technicians employ the highest quality control standards in the industry. Our long-standing relationships with FDA-approved labs and high volume service have allowed us to develop competitive rates. Finally, our sampling and testing programs satisfy FDA mandatory testing requirements for imports from countries under block detention and for those under automatic detention due to previous violations.
Degradation Studies
Growers utilize degradation studies to more effectively manage their use of farm chemicals. By determining the rate at which applied substances degrade under different circumstances, growers can modulate practices to minimize applications and eliminate residues in crops ready for shipment.
Screening for Chemicals of Concern
Periodically, a pesticide (e.g., Alar) or other contaminant (e.g., perchlorate) rises to the forefront of regulatory and consumer concern. SCS stays abreast of such issues as they emerge, and is prepared with sampling and testing protocols to address these issues on an as-needed basis.
Certification to Retailer/Distributor Specifications
SCS provides independent certification services to growers who are seeking to demonstrate that their products meet proprietary pesticide residue specifications established by retailers or distributors.
