Auditors

SCS employs a highly trained multilingual auditing team that serves food industry clients throughout North, Central, and South America. This auditing team is the backbone of SCS’s food safety division.

SCS Auditors

SCS auditors are full time employees of Scientific Certification Systems. Each auditor is carefully selected based on academic excellence, depth of skills, content expertise, and prior experience in the food industry. SCS auditors typically hold an advanced degree in agriculture or the sciences, and have subject matter expertise in such areas as sustainable agriculture, integrated pest management, fertilizer and pesticide usage, and food microbiology. SCS auditors are also approved to conduct FPA, EurepGAP, TNC, BRC, and SQF audits.

SCS Affiliate Auditors

SCS has been able to expand its geographic reach while maintaining exceptionally high auditing standards by engaging a network of auditors certified under the stringent Food Protection Association (FPA-SAFE) and CMi accreditation programs. SCS affiliate auditors undergo continuous training by SCS, and regularly attend professional development programs on food safety issues. Affiliate auditor performance is monitored through random review of audit reports and periodic in-filed observations.

All SCS and affiliate auditors must meet SCS’s rigorous quality control standards.
