Workforce Declarations

The tenants of a building have a distinct environmental impact as well. How workers commute, use computers and other office equipment, and travel are all traced in SCS Workforce Declarations.

Here are declarations demonstrating one employee's successful reduction of her environmental impacts:

In this summary, Judy is travelling for work almost constantly.

She drives an inefficient car to the office and flies about once a week on an airline that uses a fleet of older airplanes.

You can see that almost all of her environmental impacts are in the "red zone", and all but one are higher than the average employee at her company.

In this summary, you can see the effects of Judy's changes: she has traded her gas-guzzler for a more fuel-efficient car, started telecommuting once a week, and uses video- and tele-conferencing to hold meetings instead of travelling.

When she absolutely must fly, she uses information from her Eco-Workforce facilitator to fly a more efficient airline.

Judy has reduced all but one of her impacts to less than the company baseline.
